What is silence?

What is silence?
Have we really experienced it?
How many times we keep silence with our words
in the midst of an agitated sea of thoughts and desires.
Is this silence? ...NO
How many times we think to ourselves:
Ait is better to remain silent,@
but there remains a penetrating
little worm eating away in our stomach
that destroys relationships and separates us from others.
Is this silence? ...NO
How many times we keep our mouth shut
because of a fear of making a mistake
in breaking the silence,
worried about what others
might say about our remarks.
Is this silence? ...NO
The true silence is that which appears
when all activity of the mind ceases
and there remains the quiet stillness,
our receptivity before the empty void that fulfills us,
because it is an emptiness
that is filled by the presence of our true Essence,
the presence of God.

La Autenticidad
La Autenticidad
Alma mía, tú que gimes dentro de mí,
anhelando ser lo que verdaderamente eres
en lo más profundo de tu ser.
)Por qué quiero yo
aparentar lo que no soy,
buscando ser apreciado
y amado por los seres humanos,
cuando tengo el Amor
de mi Divino Amado,
que me abrasa y transforma,
amándome tal como soy,
con todos mis defectos y debilidades,
en mi miseria y mezquindad?
)Por qué quiero yo
vivir en mi imagen,
como alguien importante y valioso,
apropiándome de todos los dones
que mi Divino Amado ha puesto en mi ser,
en la nada de mi Ayo@,
como imagen Suya?
)Por qué quiero
interrumpir el fluir de la vida,
la manifestación del Amor,
con mis esquemas del bien y del mal,
de mi yo ensoberbecido?
)Por qué
constantemente estoy interceptando
los impulsos de mi alma, mi libertad,
que quiere manifestarse con sinceridad y autenticidad
y así volar y regresar a su verdadero Ser?
)Por qué estoy
vendiendo mi alma
para comprar el aprecio de los hombres
y para evitar, in mi susceptibilidad,
la crítica y el rechazo?
)Por qué estoy
esclavizado a la criatura, el don,
cuando el Dador ha salido mi encuentro,
ofreciéndome su amor gratuitamente,
sin merecerlo,
aceptándome tal como soy,
sin mirar los méritos y defectos?
)Por qué me voy como
un miserable hambriento
tras las Amigajas@ del amor humano
cuando mi verdadera comida
es hacer la Voluntad de mi Divino Amado?
)Oh alma, huérfana
del Amor,
por qué tú buscas la vida, el amor,
en los pozos
estancados del egoísmo,
imitando al enemigo de antaño,
la serpiente comiendo su propia cola,
envuelta en sí
misma,
tragando su Acola@, su propio ser,
en una ausencia total de amor?
(Basta
ya!,
quiero ser mi Realidad,
destello y chispa de la amorosa manifestación
de la Fuerza Activa de mi verdadero Ser.
Quiero buscar a mí Divino Amado,
en el silencio interior,
en el vaciamiento de la negación
para escuchar Su Avoz@,
dejandome llevar por Él,
como la hojita seca que soy,
dejando de ser yo para que Él sea en mí;
así encontraré una paz, una felicidad y un Amor
que nada ni nadie me podrán quitar jamás.

Growing
in Love
To grow in love is
to trust each other,
revealing your deepest sentiments and experiences,
thus becoming transparent to one another.
To grow in love is
to listen to the other with deep interest,
understanding and appreciation,
putting yourself in his or her place.
To grow in love is
for each one to give priority
to the desires and needs of the other
above one=s
own needB to give
rather than receive.
To grow in love is
to give one=s self,
sacrificing one=s
self for the happiness of the other.
To grow in love is
to cease to be you
so that the beloved may be.
To grow in love is
to dies to all egoism,
so that the Divine Love may manifest in and through you,
making of the two one in the Divine Beloved.

AUTHENTICITY
AUTHENTICITY
Oh soul, you who are groaning
within me,
yearning to be
what you truly are
in the depths of your being.
Why do I want to feign what I am
not,
seeking to be appreciated and
loved by human beings,
when I have the Love of my Divine
Beloved,
who embraces and transforms me,
loving me just as I am,
with all my defects and
weaknesses,
in my misery and selfishness?
Why do I want to live in my image,
like someone important and
valuable,
appropriating all the gifts
that my Divine Beloved has placed
in my being,
in the nothingness of my “self,”
made in His image?
Why do I want to interfere with
the flow of life
–the manifestation of Love–
with my mental schemes of good and
of evil,
in my pride-filled “self”?
Why am I constantly thwarting the
impulses of my soul,
my liberty,
that wants to manifest itself with
sincerity and authenticity
and thus to fly and return to its
true being?
Why are I selling my soul
in order to buy the appreciation
of men
and in order to avoid, in my sensitivity,
their criticism and rejection?
Why am I enslaved to the creature,
the gift,
when the Giver has come forth to
meet me,
freely offering me his Love,
without my meriting it,
accepting me just as I am,
without considering my “merits” or
defects?
Why do I go, like a hungry beggar,
chasing after the “crumbs” of
human love
when my true food
is to do the Will of my Divine
Beloved?
Oh souls, orphan of Love!
Why do you go seeking life, love,
in the filthy puddles of our
egoism,
imitating the enemy of old,
the serpent eating his own tail,
wrapped up in himself,
swallowing the “tail” of his own
being,
in a total absence of love?
Enough of this!
I want to be my Reality,
spark and explosion of the loving
manifestation
of the Active Force of my true
Being.
I want to seek my Divine Beloved,
in my inner silence,
in the emptying of the
denial-of-self
in order to hear His “voice,”
letting myself be carried by Him,
like the dry leaf that I am,
ceasing to be me so that He may be
in me;
thus I will find a peace,
a happiness and a Love
that nothing and no one
will ever be able to take away
from me.

What is Love?
What is Love?
True love is giving, not taking, sharing, not
expecting, serving, not waiting to be served, sacrificing, not being selfish.
Love is giving to the beloved, the giving of yourself, putting yourself in the
gift without looking for a return, for otherwise Alove@ becomes a barter, a trade-off, Ayou give me this in
exchange for that,@ a contract that can be broken if the other fails to do his part. For
love is unconditional, it=s expansive,
open-ended, without limits, horizons, INFINITE. It is giving without counting
the cost, forgetting yourself and immersing yourself in the love for the
beloved, wanting the genuine good of the beloved regardless of the sacrifice to
self. It=s the giving of one=s heart without
fear of rejection for this love is the awakening of the Divine Love within our
hearts and the human beloved is only the fragile, pale imperfect image of the
Divine Beloved; it is the Divine Beloved who must be discoveredCin the human belovedCso that if and when
the human beloved Adisappears,@ Love does not die for Love is Eternal, Love is God, Love is His
Activity in us.
Never expect from the human beloved what can only
be given by God. Our hearts are made for God and they will always be restless
until they rest in Him. So in human loveCno matter how great
and noble and trueCthere will always remain a part of one=s heart that cannot be filled, always something missing, a pocket of
loneliness, an ache of dissatisfaction, an insatiable yearning for more than
can ever be satiated by the human beloved, an empty space that only God can
fill.. It=s foolish and unjust to expect that this emptiness be filled by the
human beloved. Don’t be surprised at thisCaccept it gladly
and the challenge that it brings to raise one=s heart up to the Divine Beloved, for otherwise disillusionment will
be knocking on your door. There is always the moment of the idealization of the
beloved in the first flush of love: it looks and Afeels@ perfect and you feel a Anew life@ in you and you try to grasp on to it, to cling to it, hoping that
this feeling will never leave, that it can be this way Aforever,@ but you are mistaken, it cannot last, for it is only an invitation,
it is only a foretaste to show you what LOVE can and should be, if you are
willing to go all the way for Love, to give yourself totally, spontaneously, Afoolishly,@ without measure and without Ameasuring,@ dying to your selfishness, your self-interest, your concern about
your own comfort and pleasure and security; so be foolish in your Love and have
faith and trust in the Divinity of Love for what you are doing is surrendering
yourself and giving yourself totally to the Divine Beloved in the disguise of
the human beloved, and in His arms you shall have your eternal Joy and
Happiness.

LA VERDADERA MATERNIDAD
LA VERDADERA MATERNIDAD
Ser madre es una de las vocaciones más sublimes a
la que el ser humano puede aspirar: ser
llamado a representar y a ser una imagen de la Madre Divina dando a luz al
“HOMBRE” desde la intimidad de su Seno Divino.
Dar a luz es
darse uno mismo - sus mismos huesos y
carne – con el fin de compartir su propio ser con una nueva criatura quien es “hueso
de sus huesos y carne
de su carne”. Una Madre aprende que el misterio de toda
vida es “darse”. Ella se entrega,
dándose, para encontrarse nuevamente en un
otro – otro que es ella misma – su mismo ser y sin embargo otra persona a quien
ella puede amar. Ella participa en la más grande aventura para el ser humano –
la aventura de amor: perderse a sí misma
a fin de encontrar su ser en otro - “ella
misma”.
Pero la
verdadera Madre sabe bien que darse no es fácil – por el contrario tiene un
costo muy elevado; requiere de sufrimiento y muerte a sí misma para que la
nueva vida pueda emerger y nacer. Ella vivencia el más intenso “sufrimiento natural” – los dolores de
parto -, los cuales ella asume con amor e inmediatamente olvida su sufrimiento
debido al desbordante gozo del nacimiento de una Nueva Vida. Ella sabe que la
vida viene a través de la muerte – muerte a sí misma – a fin de que el Amor
pueda dar a luz en ella a una nueva vida.
Pero la
Madre sabe que este sufrimiento primario no es más que una preparación, un
comienzo, un anticipo, una profecía de lo que deberá enfrentar en el futuro.
Ella está allí para su hijo, dispuesta a
sufrir lo que sea necesario por él. Ella acepta este sufrimiento por
anticipado, voluntariamente acepta su vocación al sufrimiento porque sabe que
Dios sacará de esto maravillosos frutos de felicidad y plenitud. Ella se
convierte en un instrumento abierto y vacío para que por ella el Amor de Dios fluya
impulsando la evolución y desarrollo de las potencialidades que Él le ha dado a su hijo. Ella enseña a su hijo a
través de su ejemplo lo que es la fe en Dios y Su Voluntad y que el amor y el
sacrificio son compañeros inseparables. Pero ella vive el momento presente confiada
en la fe de que Dios está con ella y la asistirá en cada sacrificio que la Vida
la llame a hacer por su hijo.
Pero ella
no está sola, tiene a su lado al compañero de su vida, su esposo, quien también
debe aprender de ella las mismas lecciones espirituales. El debe estar “allí” para ella y su hijo; su ayuda complementaria quien participa activamente
en los dolores de parto de su bienamada, quien trata de ser uno con ella en su
sufrimiento.
Ser madre es una exigente vocación; va contra
nuestro egoísmo, contra la orientación a nosotros mismos. Esta es la razón por
la cual la maternidad hoy en día no es apreciada, aún en algunos círculos
espirituales, en nuestra cultura hedonística de auto complacencia y búsqueda de
placer. La verdadera madre debe ir contra la presión actual del ambiente,
siendo testigo del hecho de que la Vida y el Amor sólo nacen a través del
sacrificio personal. Ella mantiene su lámpara encendida cuidando esa lucecita
en la oscuridad del mundo del propio interés y egoísmo. Ella trata de
protegerse en su fe en Jesús, de la propaganda cultural y lavado cerebral que
inculca el hedonismo, el egoísmo y el libertinaje. Ella sabe que la difícil tarea
que la espera es dar a su hijo una formación espiritual – una formación de buen
ejemplo y sabia conducción – sabiendo que ella debe respetar la libertad del
niño y que hay una posibilidad de que su hijo pueda desviarse y tomar el camino
de la conveniencia en lugar del camino de la conciencia, lo que le hará mas
difícil aprender la lección esencial de la vida: que la Vida viene a través de
la muerte propia. Jesús nos enseñó: “si
te aferras a tu vida la perderás, y
si la dejas ir la salvarás”
La
verdadera madre sabe como tratar de amar incondicionalmente pero también como
ser firme en las correcciones que ella debe dar a su niño. Ella trata de
ser paciente y comprensiva con su hijo
en todas las manifestaciones del egoísmo, – que es propio de nuestra común naturaleza
caída – las gentiles y amorosas reprimendas en lugar de los regaños iracundos
brotados de las egoístas reacciones de una madre frustrada ante el mal
comportamiento de su hijo. Que arte tan noble que no puede ser aprendido en la
escuela o en los libros; viene sólo como un regalo al dejar actuar a Dios en
nosotros, guiándonos con Su Sabiduría e infundiéndonos con Su Amor. Ella sabe
no esperar gratitud por sus esfuerzos, porque muchas veces su amor es tomado
por dado. Ella no está apegada a ser apreciada por su hijo, porque ella sabe
que hay Otro quien aprecia y recompensa todos sus esfuerzos. Ella mantiene su
mirada elevada en lo Alto.
La
verdadera Madre sabe que no hay madre perfecta pero ella da su máximo
cooperando con la gracia de Dios, teniendo la fe de que al final el amor de
Dios vencerá sobre todos nuestros egoísmos. Que Dios “escribe derecho sobre renglones torcidos”, que El “saca un bien de todo mal”, que cada
niño desviado, cada “oveja perdida” será encontrada por el
Buen Pastor, que el hijo pródigo retornará al Hogar y recibirá el amor de Su
Padre, quien está pacientemente aguardando por él. “Ningún ojo ha visto, ningún oído ha escuchado ni ninguna mente ha
imaginado las cosas que Dios ha preparado para aquellos que le aman”. Y que
al final – después del necesario sufrimiento purificador – todos esperamos
escuchar las palabras del Divino Esposo
quien nos dirá: “Vengan, ustedes
quienes son bendecidos por mi Padre, para heredar el reino preparado para
ustedes desde la fundación del mundo”. Y entonces “Dios será todo en todos”.

El Divino Amado:
Esperando Nuestra Navidad
Oh Dios, Tú quieres nacer en
nosotros:
manifestar tu Presencia,
escondida en lo más profundo
de nuestros corazones.
Tú nos llamas constantemente,
invitándonos a abrirte nuestros
corazones,
pero estamos sordos para poder
escucharte
debido a la incesante bulla de
nuestras mentes,
y a los absorbentes e insaciables
deseos
de nuestros corazones,
por el ruido egoico
de nuestras mentes calculadoras
y los apegos egoístas
de nuestros extraviados
corazones.
Pero Tu, Oh Dios, eres el ACazador@ de las almas
persiguiéndonos a través
de los laberínticos caminos
de nuestras mentes dispersas
y absorbidas por el egoísmo
y nuestros afligidos corazones
centrados en sí mismos.
Tú eres nuestro Divino Amado,
desconocido para nosotros
B un extraño muy aclamado B;
en vano te buscamos en disfraces
humanos,
capturando sólo un vistazo,
como en un espejo oscuro,
pero con frecuencia es una caricatura
que traiciona Tu Amor:
buscando nuestra satisfacción y
realización
donde no está.
Pero tenemos esperanza!
Es tiempo de Navidad!
Tú nos has mostrado tu Rostro,
manifestándote en tu hijo, Jesús,
el Primogénito entre muchos hermanos,
quien ha resucitado de la muerte del
egoísmo por la cruz!
En su cara sentimos los tenues
destellos de Tu Amor.
AEl que me ha visto a mí, ha visto a
mi Padre@,
dijo Jesús.
En él, Tú te has acercado a nosotros.
Tenemos acceso a Ti a través de Tu
Hijo,
Y en él hemos sentido Tu absoluto
e incondicional Amor.
En él Tus tenues insinuaciones
se han convertido en un faro de Luz
que vino al mundo pero el mundo
no lo conoció ni lo recibióY
AY el Verbo se hizo carne
y habitó entre nosotros.
Hemos visto Su Gloria,
la Gloria del Hijo Unigénito del
Padre,
lleno de gracia y de verdad@
Esa primera Navidad fue una promesa,
una anticipación de nuestro
nacimiento,
nuestra día de Navidad,
cuando, en Jesús y en su Amada
Esposo, la Mujer,
sometiendo nuestra voluntad a Tu
Voluntad,
Tú puedas manifestar Tu Voluntad B Tu Amor B en nosotros,
convirtiéndonos en Tus hijos,
en el Hijo Unigénito.
Ahora sabemos que Tú eres Amor,
y que todo el que permanece en el
Amor,
permanece en Ti y Tú en nosotros.
Oh Señor y Madre, que esta navidad podamos
recordar,
que el mejor regalo que podemos darte
es el vaciamiento de nosotros mismos
B dando toda nuestra libertad, amor y vida a Ti B
para que tu Amor Divino pueda
transformarnos
y desbordar nuestros corazones,
abarcando y abrazando nuestras
familias, amigos
y toda la humanidad
para que Tú puedas ser Todo en todos.
